Welcome to our 0 to 19 Torbay website. Our services work together to promote the health, development and well-being of children, young people and families in the Torbay area where you’ll first come into contact with our team antenatally and then at various points through early years onto pre-school and until your child has reached 19.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust are working with Action for Children, The Children’s Society and Torbay Council as the 0 to 19 Torbay Partnership. Find out more about each partner below.

Our website gives you lots of links to helpful and NHS recommended websites so you can be sure that the advice is genuine and upto date.

Important: if you think your baby or child is unwell, contact your GP or 111 in the first instance.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust

The Health Visitor and School Nurse team offer Community Public Health Nursing from the ante-natal period through to the age of 19 years.

We support families during pregnancy, with a new baby or a child up until the age of 19 years. We work with you to support you and your family to be healthy, providing health advice, support, drop in clinics, health checks and screening surveillance. We may work within GP surgeries, community clinics, schools, community settings and people’s homes. Some of our work will be with individual young people and their families, some may be within groups. We work with other agencies such as Children’s Centre staff, GPs, Midwives, Early Years’ settings, Voluntary and Community groups and Children’s Services.

Children’s Society Checkpoint

Across Torbay, The Children’s Society’s Checkpoint service provides a range of free and confidential information, advice and support services to children and young people aged 8–17.

Torbay Council
